MATERIALS
CASTING Saddle body is cast from UNS C83600 waterworks bronze in accordance with chemical and mechanical requirements of ASTM B62 per AWWA C800. Threads can either be NPT (also referred to as IP threads) or AWWA CC threads.
GASKETS Gaskets are made from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) compounded for water and sewer service and a tolerance of petroleum products in accordance with ASTM D 2000 MBC 610, and NSF 61 Certified Other compounds available for special applications.
STRAPS Gauge 13 silicon bronze per ASTM B96. Straps are 2" wide to spread out clamping forces on the pipe. GMAW using silicon bronze filler rod.
BOLTS Rolled thread from UNS C65500 silicon bronze per ASTM B98, 5/8-11 UNC.
NUTS Heavy hex nut from UNS C65100 silicon bronze per ASTM B98, 5/8-11 UNC.
WASHERS Flat, silicon bronze UNS C65100 per ASTM B98.
